Who We Are and How We Got Here

We are Steve and Donna! Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us and indulge in our hobby and passion for wine, craft beer, and tasty dishes!  Both of us have had the opportunity to tour the world and find our favorite tastes from Italy, Spain, France, and California.  We love to tour the world, meet new people, and try everything there is to offer.  The idea of taking our passionate customers with us on tours of Europe trying new wines and tasting specialty dishes is what made us decide to jump into this industry.  With one of us from the area and the other out of state we have had many opportunity to spend our time here in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. We absolutely love our town and have had a great journey together redeveloping what was an old surplus store and turning it into a dream we think Tomahawk needs.  Join us here on Wisconsin Ave in downtown Tomahawk, Wisconsin for Wine and Craft Beer! We are excited to meet you!

The Fifth Element Art Gallery

Steve and Donna's daughter, Shayna Kelley, owns The Fifth Element Art Gallery. Located in the loft above Sideways Wine & Craft Beer. As soon as you enter Sideways, theres a staircase that leads you up to this magical loft, filled with fine art from local Northwoods artists. All of these artists make art for a living, and Shayna's goal is to support these artists and help them thrive doing what they love to do most. Shayna went to a renowned art high school downtown Chicago at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, studying the visual arts. She continued her art education at Naropa University in Colorado, and graduated with a Bachelors in Art at Elmhurst College, now known as Elmhurst University. She taught K-5 after school drawing classes through Young Rembrandts, and taught Open Studio courses, and paint and sip classes for adults at the Elmhurst Art Museum for many years. She went on to become a professional Christmas designer and decorator for one of the largest Christmas Decoration businesses in the Chicagoland area, designing displays for large Chicago hotels, malls, and even for State Farm headquarters.

After many years of hard work, she decided to dedicate her life to opening a business that would help celebrate artists achievements in her favorite place in the world, Tomahawk, Wisconsin. She tells everyone her heart and soul belongs in Tomahawk, where she feels most at home, and loves the camaraderie and the wonders of the wilderness.
