BAR MANAGER

The Bar Manager is the backbone of running Sideways. They help Donna and Steve ( the owners of Sideways ) keep daily operations up to par. 

​

Prior experience in some form of management is a requirement. On the job training is provided, and ServSafe training is paid for. 

​

Competencies Include:

​

  • Scheduling staff

  • Enforcing rules

  • Working closely with the Marketing Manger / Events Coordinator

  • Taking inventory / here for deliveries / putting inventory away

  • Fill in necessary shifts if it cannot be filled

​

  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment

Job Type: Part-time 20-30 hours per week

Pay : $20.00 an hour based experience​, wage review after 90 days

​

KITCHEN HELPER / CHEF ASSISTANT

The Kitchen Helper / Chef Assistant performs the support work to help keep our kitchen running on schedule and within food safety regulations.

​

Prior experience is a bonus but not required for the right eager candidate. On the job training is provided and ServSafe training is paid for.

Competencies Include:

  • Enforcing safety and sanitation in the kitchen

  • Kitchen organization

  • Helping prepare food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients as requested by the Chef

  • Attention to detail and commitment to the quality of the products and meals that are served in the business

General Requirements:

  • A passion and affection for culinary arts and a desire to learn

  • Requires occasional lifting of products weighing up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work as part of a team

Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Basic food preparation: Help chefs prepare meals by washing, peeling and cutting ingredients

  • Become our resident expert on assembling beautiful charcuterie boards and help prep other food items

  • Washing dishes, equipment and utensils: make sure that equipment and dishes are washed and sanitized to be ready for preparing and serving food

  • Sanitizing kitchen surfaces: Sanitize counters and other places where food is prepared so it meets health regulations

  • Inventory support: Help Chef manage inventory by organizing food storage and telling them when items need to be ordered

  • Receiving deliveries: Help unpack all deliveries, making sure all food and supplies are put in their correct places. Must be able to lift 50lbs throughout your shift

  • General cleaning: Sweep and mop the floors, wipe out trash cans, change garbage liners, and clean and organize food storage

  • Equipment maintenance: Make sure that ovens, refigerators, and other cooking equipment are in working order

Job Type: Part-time 20-30 hours per week
Pay : $12 - $14 an hour based experience​, wage review after 90 days

​

 

FLOOR POSITIONS 

Front of the house and back of the house (Full time and Part Time):

  • Bar Tender ( starting at $15.00 per hour )

  • Wait Staff  ( starting at $9.00 per hour)

​

Job Type : Full-Time / Part-Time

Pay : Negotiable Depending on Experience

​

Training : On the job training is provided and ServSafe training is paid for
